Atlantic Cape Community College Receives $474,000 Grant to Expand Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Programs

MAYS LANDING, NEW JERSEY — Atlantic Cape Community College has been awarded a $474,227 grant from the National Science Foundation to develop enhanced educational pathways in artificial intelligence and machine learning for computer programming students. The project, spanning three years, will build on the college’s existing associate degree by introducing four new courses focused on machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and AI ethics. The curriculum will be phased in, starting with foundational concepts and progressing to advanced topics. Students will complete a final capstone project in partnership with local industries, culminating in an annual event to showcase their work. The program is designed to provide stackable credentials that can be completed within 12 months, aligning coursework with workforce demands to prepare students for high-demand careers in AI and machine learning.
