Atlantic City Casinos See New Buffet Return with Golden Nugget's Seafood Offering

ATLANTIC CITY — After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, the buffet scene in Atlantic City casinos is slowly making a comeback. Once a staple of casino dining, buffets fell out of favor as COVID-19 restrictions and changing trends altered the landscape. With many casinos shifting focus to smaller dining options or celebrity chef restaurants, the buffet was seen as less profitable and more prone to food waste. However, two casinos in Atlantic City are still holding on to their buffets — the Fresh Harvest Buffet at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and the Borgata Buffet at Borgata Casino and Spa. Both have loyal followings, but now, Golden Nugget is re-entering the buffet game with a seafood buffet every Friday starting May 2. The Golden Nugget’s new offering runs from 3 pm to 9 pm for $49.99 per person, with more than 20 entrée options. While seafood is the focus, diners will also find chicken, meatloaf, carving stations, and fish dishes like stuffed crabs and snow crab legs at an extra cost. Additional features include a cold food station and a dessert area. Hard Rock’s Harvest Buffet and Borgata’s Buffet also continue to offer a variety of dining experiences. Hard Rock’s buffet includes regular meals and seafood nights, while Borgata provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets, including a weekend brunch.
