Atlantic City Man Pleads Guilty to Cocaine Distribution as Atlantic County Prosecutor Intensifies Drug Crackdown

Atlantic City, NJ — The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office continues its aggressive stance against drug trafficking with the recent guilty plea of Knocumus Dixon, 34, of Atlantic City. Dixon admitted on May 20, 2025, to first-degree possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and fourth-degree obstruction. According to authorities, on September 21, 2023, Atlantic City police observed Dixon engaging in behavior consistent with hand-to-hand drug sales near 33 South Iowa Avenue. After a traffic stop revealed an oxycodone pill in the vehicle, a warrant was secured to search Dixon’s apartment, where over five ounces of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, including digital scales and empty baggies, were found. Dixon’s criminal history includes prior obstruction of a drug investigation in May 2022, handled by the Atlantic City Police Vice Unit with prosecutorial oversight from Assistant Atlantic County Prosecutor Chris D’Esposito and the Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Unit. Atlantic County Prosecutor Will Reynolds, who prioritizes removing drugs, guns, and predators from the streets, praised the conviction as a step toward reducing gang and drug-related dangers in the community. Dixon remains held at Atlantic County Justice Facility, with sentencing scheduled for July 2025.
