PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. — The Atlantic County Animal Shelter will offer free adoptions for dogs and cats from Saturday, July 5, through Saturday, July 12. Adoption fees, typically $110 for dogs and $85 for cats, will be waived during this one-week event. All adopted animals will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated according to age, tested for common illnesses, and microchipped. New pet owners will also receive a free veterinary consultation. Dogs adopted during the promotion will qualify for complimentary obedience training classes. The shelter, located at 240 Old Turnpike Road, is open daily from 1 to 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary for adoptions. For more information, residents can call 609-485-2345.
