WILDWOOD, N.J. — Police evacuated a section of the Wildwood Boardwalk near Franconi’s Pizzeria at 3318 Boardwalk on August 8 following a reported bomb threat. Officers brought in K-9 units from multiple agencies and conducted a detailed search, including underneath the boardwalk. No explosives were found, and officials determined the area was safe before reopening it to the public. Franconi’s Pizzeria recently drew attention after photos of Nazi-related stickers inside the kitchen circulated online, sparking outrage and calls for a boycott. While the restaurant stayed open during and after the evacuation, authorities have not confirmed if it was specifically targeted. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Wildwood Police Department at 609-522-0222.
