BROOKLYN MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO ATLANTIC CITY SHOOTING

Atlantic City, NJ - A suspect accused of shooting a man in Atlantic City has been arrested in Brooklyn following a joint investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies. Officers responded to the 1500 block of Baltic Avenue on May 3 around 2:11 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. The victim, a 52-year-old man from Atlantic City, had already been taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center by someone known to him. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Authorities have not released the victim’s name.
Investigators say the victim and the alleged shooter knew each other and had a verbal altercation that turned violent. The suspect, identified as a 51-year-old man from Brooklyn, allegedly shot the victim before fleeing to New York. The Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit worked in coordination with the New York Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force. The suspect was located and taken into custody in Brooklyn on May 6. He is currently being held in a New York correctional facility awaiting extradition to New Jersey. Charges against him include attempted homicide, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and being a certain person not to possess a weapon.
