Prescription legend drugs are medications that can only be legally dispensed with a prescription from a licensed physician or provider. Stesney has been charged with one second-degree count of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), one third-degree count of possession of a CDS, and one third-degree count of possession of a prescription legend drug. A conviction for second-degree crimes could result in a prison sentence of 5 to 10 years. Stesney was released on a summons and is pending further court proceedings. The investigation involved the Prosecutor’s Office’s Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force, the county regional SWAT team, the Middle Township Police Department, and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
