Father and Son Arrested for Fatal Beating in Vineland

Vineland, NJ – A father and his 17-year-old son face homicide charges in the brutal death of 54-year-old Louis "Gus" Serbeck, who was beaten with a baseball bat and metal hammer in Vineland, New Jersey. The incident occurred on Easter Sunday after Serbeck went to the Hannah family home to confront them about an alleged assault involving his daughter.
Serbeck and his daughter were reportedly involved in a physical altercation with Eric Hannah, 55, and his son, which led to a violent confrontation. Authorities say Serbeck was struck multiple times in the head, and his daughter was also injured. Both father and son have been taken into custody. Eric Hannah is held at Cumberland County Jail, while his son is detained in a juvenile facility. The teenager faces additional charges for assaulting Serbeck’s daughter. It is unclear if he will be tried as an adult. Investigators believe the families once had a close relationship, which makes the tragedy even more shocking.
Authorities are still looking for additional information related to the case. Anyone with tips is urged to contact Detective Christopher Fixler of the Vineland Police Department.
