VINELAND, N.J. – Businesses and nonprofits in the Vineland area can now sign up for free job training through a grant-funded program at Rowan College of South Jersey, with sessions beginning in July. The Workplace Literacy and Basic Skills Training Grant Program is funded by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. It covers essential workplace skills such as leadership, customer service, and computer proficiency at no cost to employers. No financial paperwork is required to apply. To qualify, companies must be based in New Jersey, be up to date on state taxes, and continue paying employees while they attend training. Businesses with 10 or more employees can schedule dedicated sessions, either online, at their location, or at Rowan’s campuses in Cumberland or Gloucester counties. Those with fewer staff can opt for open-enrollment classes held online. The program is funded through payroll taxes that employers already pay, so no additional investment is needed. It is designed to help workers build stronger skills and give businesses a chance to grow their teams without added expense. Enrollment is now open.
