Millville Man Sentenced to 60 Years for 2021 Fatal Shooting

Bridgeton, New Jersey — A Cumberland County judge has sentenced a Millville man to 60 years in state prison for the 2021 killing of 28-year-old Dominick Hull of Bridgeton. Darryl L. Wallace, 34, was convicted last October on charges including first-degree murder and multiple weapons offenses. The shooting occurred June 24, 2021, outside the Carlton House Apartments on Cedar Street in Millville. Responding officers found Hull in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the head. He was hospitalized and died one week later.  Surveillance footage showed Hull arguing with the driver of a car before it parked. Wallace then exited the vehicle, approached Hull and his group, and fired four shots. Authorities identified Wallace as the shooter and charged him with murder.
Wallace was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona, in August 2021 and later extradited to New Jersey. A jury convicted him of first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a firearm by a convicted person. Superior Court Judge Niki Arbittier sentenced Wallace to 60 years for murder, requiring him to serve at least 85 percent before parole eligibility. He also received a concurrent 10-year term for being a convicted person in possession of a firearm. The remaining weapons charges were merged into the primary sentence.
