Music Festival in Atlantic City to Move After Condominium Lawsuit

Atlantic City – A three-day music festival planned for this summer will be relocated after residents of the Ocean Club Condominiums filed a lawsuit, officials confirmed Tuesday. The Big Road Trip (BRT) Weekend, a Caribbean-themed event scheduled for July 11-13, had initially been planned for the beach area near the condominiums but will now be moved to a different section of the boardwalk.
The dispute stemmed from the proximity of the Cocorico Beach Bar, which had intended to host the event within its permitted beach space. The condominium association filed a lawsuit, claiming that the event violated an agreement regarding live music performances. In response to growing concerns, Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. announced that the festival would be relocated to a beach area near Missouri Avenue, in front of the remains of the former Trump Plaza Hotel Casino.
While officials are working to move the event, Small emphasized that large-scale events like this are important for the city’s tourism and economy. The lawsuit, which was filed in Atlantic County Superior Court, is still pending, and it remains unclear whether the condominium association will drop the case in light of the move.
The mayor also revealed that discussions are ongoing regarding a potential move for the Cocorico Beach Bar, which could help resolve long-standing conflicts with the Ocean Club residents
