New Jersey Avenue to Close for Paving in North Wildwood

North Wildwood, NJ – New Jersey Avenue will be closed between New York and Fifth avenues from Tuesday through Thursday for paving work, according to Cape May County officials. Detours will be set up to redirect traffic during the project, and local traffic will still have access through the work zone. Businesses in the area will remain open. The project will also include resurfacing the parking lot along Olde New Jersey Avenue and realigning the access off Second Avenue to enhance safety and circulation. The work is expected to be completed by the end of Thursday. In addition to the New Jersey Avenue project, the county will resurface a section of Dennisville-Petersburg Road in Woodbine and Dennis Township starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday, with paving continuing until 6 a.m. Thursday. The work will repeat Thursday night into Friday morning. During paving, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction, with detours for the opposite lanes. Normal traffic patterns will be restored each day between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the work zones due to slow-moving vehicles, limited visibility, and the absence of traffic striping. Temporary pavement reflectors will be placed to mark the centerline until permanent striping is completed.
