MAURICE RIVER TOWNSHIP — A propane leak at a Wawa along Route 47 led to the store’s evacuation Sunday after firefighters discovered a tank leaking inside a self-service exchange kiosk. The Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company responded to reports of a strong propane odor at the store and located the source within the kiosk. After attempting to contact the kiosk’s emergency service number without success, firefighters manually opened the unit and removed the leaking tank. New Jersey State Police also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.
