SEA ISLE CITY, N.J. — Sea Isle City police are investigating a series of attempted burglaries involving juveniles targeting open garages. The incidents, focused in a neighborhood stretching from the 60th to 79th Streets, involved suspects trying to steal alcohol from unsecured garages. Several attempts were captured on home security cameras. Police released a photo of a male suspect on their Facebook page but have not made any arrests. In response, officers increased undercover patrols and bike patrols throughout the area. One suspect was arrested for allegedly stealing a lacrosse stick from a baby stroller and later turned himself in. Police are urging residents to secure all entry points, including doors, garages, and vehicles, especially at night. Many homeowners may be unaware that their garage doors are left open while they sleep. This activity is consistent with seasonal patterns of juvenile mischief common in shore communities during the summer months. Residents who have information about the suspect are encouraged to contact Sea Isle City Police at 609-263-4311.
