Spirit Halloween Cancels Egg Harbor Township Grand Opening Event Amid Supply Chain Challenges

Egg Harbor Township, NJ — Spirit Halloween announced the cancellation of its highly anticipated “Ultimate Spirit Halloween Experience” grand opening event at its flagship store in Harbor Square Mall. The decision, revealed in a press release Thursday, is attributed to international supply chain disruptions beyond the company’s control. The Egg Harbor Township store has hosted one of the most notable seasonal launch events, drawing thousands of Halloween enthusiasts from across the country and overseas. Last year’s event attracted over 1,500 visitors, with fans lining up for exclusive giveaways, early access to new costumes and animatronics, and a festive community atmosphere. Local hotels filled up and visitors camped outside for days in advance, underscoring the event’s cultural significance for South Jersey and the Halloween fan community. Spirit Halloween confirmed that while the grand opening party is canceled for 2025, it plans to reinstate the event next year. The company also assured customers that more than 1,500 Spirit Halloween stores nationwide will open on schedule for the Halloween season starting mid-August. “Although we’re disappointed to cancel this year’s grand opening event, we remain committed to delivering an exciting Halloween season,” Spirit Halloween stated.
