Two Vineland Residents Allegedly Found with Large Quantities of Drugs, Weapon After Atlantic City Traffic Stop

Atlantic City, NJ — Authorities arrested two Vineland residents Sunday night following a traffic stop that allegedly uncovered a significant cache of illegal drugs and a weapon. Clarence Shambry, 44, and Shanera Phillips, 30, were taken into custody on multiple charges, including maintaining a controlled dangerous substance facility, possession and intent to distribute heroin, cocaine, marijuana, and MDMA, as well as conspiracy, unlawful weapon possession, paraphernalia possession, and money laundering. The incident began around 7:45 p.m. when police responded to a license plate reader alert that flagged Shambry due to outstanding warrants. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers reportedly found Shambry carrying approximately 650 bags of heroin. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 201 grams of cocaine, 289 grams of marijuana, 161 grams of MDMA, 14 grams of unpackaged heroin, and nine grams of tramadol. Additionally, officers seized drug paraphernalia and a wooden baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. Both individuals remain detained at the Atlantic County jail awaiting court proceedings.
