Wildwood Fire Department Opens Registration for Summer Cadet Program

Wildwood, New Jersey — The Wildwood Fire Department is now accepting applications for its annual Summer Cadet Program, a hands-on opportunity for young people interested in emergency services. The free program runs the week of August 4 and is open to participants between the ages of 10 and 17. Designed to introduce youth to the skills and responsibilities of firefighting, the program offers training in basic equipment use, emergency response techniques, and safety procedures. Cadets will participate in daily drills and interactive scenarios that mirror the real-world duties of professional firefighters. City officials say the program promotes leadership, discipline, and teamwork while giving participants exposure to a possible future career path. It also gives young people the chance to build confidence and learn life-saving skills in a structured environment. A limited number of slots are available, and registration is expected to fill quickly. The program will be held at the Wildwood Fire Department’s headquarters. All equipment and instructional materials are provided at no cost to families. While the training includes physical activity, no prior experience is required. To register or learn more, visit the City of Wildwood’s official website. Early registration is encouraged due to space limitations.
