HOUSTON, Sept 21 (Reuters) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott said on Monday he had halted all state-issued permits for data centers until an Electric Reliability Council of Texas grid audit is complete.
Abbott directed the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to stop issuing permits and said no state agency should move forward with regulatory approvals for data center development until the audit and related water-use information are acquired.
