(Washington, DC) — President Trump is confirming the last American forces are exiting Iraq. Speaking from the White House, Trump called Iraqi campaign a quagmire for America and said there’s been some very bad decision making before he took office. Trump praised the new Iraqi prime minister, whom Trump campaigned for, and praised the Americans who were killed or wounded in Iraq. U.S. forces initially withdrew in 2011 after toppling Saddam Hussein in 2003. The U.S. returned and has had troops in northern Iraq since 2014 battling ISIS as part of Operation Inherent Resolve.
