March 10 (Reuters) – President Donald Trump endorsed former U.S. Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein for a Kentucky seat held by one of his most prominent Republican critics in Congress, Representative Thomas Massie.
Trump made his endorsement for Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District on social media on Tuesday.
Massie and Trump have been at odds for months as the Kentucky congressman has continually pushed for the release of files related to the investigation of late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and criticized the Trump administration for its handling of the issue.
Trump has repeatedly criticized Massie, including in his endorsement of Gallrein on Tuesday.
