(Washington, DC) — President Trump has proclaimed the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room at the White House as a national monument. He signed the proclamation Thursday, saying it means that the rooms will not be touched by anybody and they won’t be destroyed or ripped down by “stupid people.” The proclamation includes the outer Oval Office, which has been heavily redesigned during Trump’s second term. Trump also this week touted progress on the new White House ballroom, being built on the spot where he demolished the East Wing of the White House.
