May 5 (Reuters) – Officials at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have blocked the publication of several studies supporting the safety of widely used vaccines against Covid-19 and shingles in recent months, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.
The studies, funded with millions of dollars in public money, were carried out by agency scientists working with data firms to review millions of patient records.
The findings showed that serious side effects were very rare, the report added.
The Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the FDA, did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
