Cuba announces decision to pardon 2,010 prisoners – state run media

HAVANA, April 2 (Reuters) – Cuba on Thursday said it would free 2,010 prisoners from the island’s jails, according to state-run media, the second time this year the country has announced a prisoner amnesty amid ongoing talks with the United States.

Cuba’s state-run Granma newspaper called the decision a “humanitarian and sovereign gesture.”
