MEXICO CITY, May 12 (Reuters) – Mexican authorities on Tuesday rejected a CNN news story that reported earlier in the day that the CIA was behind a security operation which resulted in the killing of a cartel member in an explosion outside of Mexico City.
“The Mexican government categorically rejects any (allegations that attempt) to normalize, justify or suggest the existence of lethal, covert or unilateral operations by foreign agencies on Mexican soil,” Security Minister Omar Garcia Harfuch said on X.
