(Paris) — Tens of thousands turned out today for mass protests in France. Police reported over 100 arrests and used water cannons and tear gas to clear streets in Paris and other major cities. The State Department has issued a security alert for Americans traveling in the country. It comes as the Pittsburgh Steelers are set to play the New Orleans Saints in the NFL’s first game in France on Sunday. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Friday the game will go ahead as planned. Government officials said about 70-thousand police officers were being deployed this weekend as authorities ramped up security across France.
