4 Israeli Hikers Wounded After Terrorist Seizes Weapon Near Havat Gilad

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it was investigating a reported shooting near the Havat Gilad outpost in Samaria on Friday after an initial report said a group of Israeli hikers was attacked by Palestinians, leaving several Israelis wounded.  

According to preliminary information, one of the Palestinians allegedly seized a firearm belonging to one of the hikers before shots were fired. The IDF said the circumstances of the incident were under investigation.  

Magen David Adom said its teams, working with an IDF medical unit, were treating four injured people in what was described as a suspected terror attack near Havat Gilad. One of the wounded was unconscious.  

Palestinian reports said three people were seriously wounded during the shooting in the nearby village of Tel, in the Havat Gilad area of Samaria.  

The reports also said the firearm allegedly taken from one of the Israeli hikers was recovered.  

Security forces remained at the scene as the investigation continued.
