IDF Kills 4 Hamas Operatives, Including Nukhba Commander Who Invaded Israel on Oct 7

The Israel Defense Forces said Sunday it killed a Hamas Nukhba commander who took part in the October 7 massacre, along with another Hamas operative, in an airstrike in the Jabaliya area of the northern Gaza Strip after the two allegedly advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians.

Abd al-Fattah Abu al-Aish, a Nukhba commander in Hamas’s military wing, and Raed Alyan, an operative in the group’s military wing, were killed in the Saturday strike, the IDF spokesperson said.

The military said Abu al-Aish participated in the October 7 raid into Israel. It said both men had recently worked to advance terrorist attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians while repeatedly violating the ceasefire.

Their deaths followed the IDF’s announcement Saturday that it had killed Hani Abd al-Hai Fakhri Mazloum, a Nukhba company commander, and Hassan Zidan Hassan Deiri, a Hamas sniper.

Mazloum and Deiri were involved in trafficking and supplying weapons to Hamas terrorists and posed an immediate threat before they were killed, the IDF said.

Israel has continued striking senior Hamas and Islamic Jihad members in Gaza despite the ceasefire declared last October, saying its operations have targeted terrorists who pose a threat to Israeli forces in the territory.

Board of Peace envoy Nickolay Mladenov called on Israel last week to stop strikes in Gaza and ease alleged restrictions on supplies for civilians. Addressing the UN Security Council on Wednesday, he said neither Israel nor Hamas had fully implemented its commitments under the Gaza framework.

Mladenov also faulted Hamas for failing to meet its obligations under a disarmament proposal that called for both sides to halt military activity.

An Arab diplomat from one of the mediating countries told The Times of Israel earlier this month that the Board of Peace had called on Hamas to stop deploying armed and uniformed men on Gaza’s streets.

Hamas accepted the disarmament proposal on July 30, a move intended to begin a 14-day period for establishing a timetable for phased Hamas disarmament and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Hamas has not surrendered its weapons, and the 14-day period has yet to begin.
