WASHINGTON, Dec 5 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff met with Ukraine’s senior negotiator Rustem Umerov in Florida on Thursday and will meet there again on Friday, a source familiar with the matter said.
Witkoff was due to brief the Ukrainian official on his meeting in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this week, the source said, adding that the meeting was not intended to focus on a U.S.-backed peace plan.
It was not immediately clear if the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner was participating in the meetings with Umerov.
