An Israeli man in his 30s was killed in a shooting near Neveh Tzuf, also known as Halamish, in the West Bank, as Israeli forces launched a manhunt and set up roadblocks in search of the attacker.

The victim was initially listed in critical condition after the shooting. Magen David Adom personnel performed CPR and succeeded in restoring his pulse, leading his condition to be temporarily updated to severe.

He was subsequently airlifted to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva in critical condition, where doctors later pronounced him dead.

The gunfire was directed at a group of people bathing at a local spring near Neveh Tzuf. Initial reports said the shots came from what appeared to be a red Mitsubishi SUV with Palestinian Authority license plates as it passed the area.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) troops deployed across the surrounding area following the shooting and began searching for the suspected attacker. Forces also erected roadblocks as part of the effort to locate the shooter.

“Numerous IDF troops have launched a pursuit after the terrorist and are carrying out roadblocks in the area,” the military said.

The search for the attacker is ongoing.
